General Cannillo replaces General Baldacci as Head of the Weapons Role Today, January 15, at the Madonna di Loreto Hall in Palazzo Aeronautica, in the presence of the highest authorities of the Armed Forces and the General of the Role of Weapons pro tempore, the ceremony of the replacement of the General of the Role of Weapons of the Aeronautica Militare was held, presided over by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Force General Alberto Rosso. Finally, confirming the focus on the Role’s issues and recognizing the high level of professionalism achieved, General S.A. Alberto Rosso highlighted how the capabilities expressed by the Role, both now and in the past, contribute in a decisive way to ensuring the full operational capability of the Air Force in fulfilling the assigned tasks.
The Role of Weapons represents today an essential component of the operational, logistical and training organization of the Armed Forces. Beyond the numerical strength of its personnel and the increasingly high presence in Operations Outside National Borders, the contribution provided by the officers of the Role of Weapons has progressively reached levels of the highest level of preparation and professionalism, concretizing, among other things, in command, direction, control, study, and management functions that prove to be of vital importance for achieving the institutional objectives of the aerospace military instrument.
