Agreement signed between the Aviano Airport Command, the 31st Fighter Wing and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region on Friday 16th November, at the “Pagliano e Gori” Airport in Aviano, the agreement on the emergency response plan was signed by Col. Vincenzo Tozzi, Commander of the Aviano Airport, by Col. David Chace, Commander of the 31st Fighter Wing, by the Honorable Architect Riccardo Riccardi, Vice Governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia (with responsibility for Health and Civil Protection), and by Engineer Mabel Callegaro, Head of the Prevention and Protection Service of the 31st Fighter Wing.
The document, presented during a press conference, provides for coordination between the Aviano Air Base Command, the 31st FW and local emergency services in order to ensure, without delay, the access of emergency vehicles to the Aviano base, the timely arrival at the scene of the event and the proven veracity of requests for intervention to eliminate false alarms and interventions not known to the operational rooms.
During the press conference, Col. Tozzi wanted to emphasize that “in the event of a health emergency or fires within the airport, there was an ineffective allocation of resources. Therefore, it was necessary to identify a procedure that would avoid overlapping in the use of means and resources for the implementation of the plan.” All the speakers agreed that the system is indispensable for better managing emergencies.
The Central Director of 112, Dr. Vittorio Antonaglia, the Director of SORES (Operational Room for Health Emergency Response), and Dr. Ing. Doriano Minisini, Provincial Commander of the Pordenone Fire Brigade, were also present at the Press Conference.
