Personnel from the Institute of Air Force Military Sciences and the “G. Douhet” Military School took part in the 10th edition of the Florence sports event “Corri la vita”, an event designed to help fund non-profit projects by public healthcare facilities in Florence specialising in the fight against breast cancer. The funds raised therefore go towards supporting these institutions and specific forms of voluntary work. The Italian Air Force could certainly not miss such an important event, having also been present at all nine previous editions.
The Air Force Institute of Military Sciences, led by its Commander, Air Division General Pietro Valente, took to the field to make its contribution, with officers, non-commissioned officers, enlisted and civilian personnel, as well as a large contingent of students from the “G. Douhet” Military School, led by the Commander, Colonel Claudio Icardi, totalling over 200 personnel, making it one of the largest groups. At the end of the event, General Valente expressed words of praise for all participants and a special thank you to the young students of the “Douhet” School, who demonstrated altruism and a sense of duty through their participation.
