The students from two Marche-based institutions visited the facilities of the Foreign Languages School of the Italian Air Force in Loreto
The young people, accompanied by their teachers, were welcomed by the staff responsible for Public Information and Communication of the School, assisted on this occasion by some volunteers from the Arma Aeronautica Association belonging to the Sections of Montecassiano (Macerata) and Falconara (Ancona).
The young students had the opportunity to get to know the aeronautical reality of the Department closely, which is engaged daily in the linguistic sector, attending a briefing on the activities of the Air Force and the School of Loreto. Particular enthusiasm was also aroused by the viewing of the films on the origins and historical development of the Air Force in the last century, up to the recent missions in the aerospace field. The video on the National Acrobatics Patrol (PAN), which will, among other things, perform on the Marche coast on August 4 and 5, was also very engaging. The young students finally asked the staff many questions, especially regarding the possibilities of enlisting in the Armed Forces.
The event concluded with a visit to the exhibition “Ali Italiani – Tra cielo e mare sui cinque continenti” and the delivery of posters and informational material to the children. The exhibition, curated by the A.M. Historical Museum of Vigna di Valle (Rome), is on display at Villa Bonci, a historic 19th-century residence within SLEAM that was first owned by tenor Alessandro Bonci and then by the National Opera of the Sons of Aviators (O.N.F.A.), the meritorious moral organization that from 1930 until the 1980s carried out ‘direct“ assistance activities in the Marian city in favor of the orphans of aviators.
