For two weeks, an ONFA student had the opportunity to participate in the activities of the 17th Stormtrooper Squadron in Furbara (RM).
Constantly accompanied by a mentor at his disposal, the Trainee was fully immersed in the realities of the Stormo thanks to a daily program rich in theoretical and practical exercises, introductory visits and briefings carried out “ad hoc”. The ONFA student, during a brief interview, stated: “The 17th Assault Wing has fully met my expectations, as in my opinion it encompasses 70% of the elite sectors of the Air Force, excluding flight units.”He also confessed: “I must say that, although attracted by the operational sector where the Incursori operate and pleasantly impressed by the training sector, where I found competent and helpful personnel, the sector that really fascinated me was the EOD/EOR sector, where I found the real hub of excellence of the Italian Air Force towards which I have a true passion and which I would like to further explore in the future.”When asked what he least liked about the 17th Fighter Wing, the Apprentice replied:“I haven’t discovered it yet”. The continuous commitment of the O.N.F.A. in favor of the children of deceased personnel belonging to the Armed Forces is aimed at fostering their growth and integration into the Blue Army. This highlights the strong bond that exists between the personnel of the Air Force.”.
