Technology, knowledge and experiences of the Volo Experimental Center and the Serbian Technical Experimental Center compared The Experimental Flight Center of Pratica di Mare (RM) hosted, from November 21 to 23, a delegation of Officers from the parallel “Technical Test Center”, a testing and research agency of the Serbian Armed Forces. The visit, which took place within the framework of bilateral cooperation agreements between Italy and Serbia, represented a moment of exchange and professional enrichment.
After the welcoming remarks by Colonel Pierandrea Trivelloni, the delegation watched the video presentation of the Center’s capabilities and activities.
The visit then continued, over the three days of meetings, at the Reparto Sperimentale Volo, Reparto Tecnologie Materiali Aeronautici e Spaziali and the Reparto Medicina Aeronautica e Spaziale departments, where the four foreign officers were able, during a series of briefings organized with personnel belonging to the three departments and a visit to the main infrastructure of the Center, to deepen their knowledge of the sector and understand the tasks carried out by the Flight Test Center.
At the end of three intense days of meetings, the delegation expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the opportunity offered by the Air Force, which allowed them to confront the reality of our country’s experimentation.
The Experimental Flight Center brings together, under a single command, all the study and testing agencies of the Air Force. The Agency is structured into three departments: the Experimental Flight Department, the Department of Aeronautical and Space Material Technologies, and the Department of Aeronautical and Space Medicine. The Center represents the main advisory agency of the Armed Forces and the Defense Administration for flight testing of aircraft and weapon systems, the chemical-physical analysis and evaluation of structural and consumable materials, aerophysiological training, and experimentation in the field of aeronautical and space medicine, the management of operational software, and the operational verification of weapon systems. The established professionalism of the staff, the state-of-the-art equipment, the continuous contacts and exchanges with important national and foreign research institutions, and not least the possession of the ISO 9001-2008 quality certification, which contributes to the value of the results of the study and research activities also from a commercial perspective, make the Centro Sperimentale di Volo a valuable resource for the country.
