On the occasion of the upcoming International Day for the Rights of Children and Adolescents, the Air Force renewed its participation, on 14 November, in the solidarity campaign “In Pharmacy for Children”, promoted by the Francesca Rava NPH Italia Onlus Foundation.
From north to south of the country, over 150 men and women of the Armed Forces have worked alongside volunteers and healthcare personnel in more than 60 pharmacies across over 40 municipalities in 15 Italian provinces, contributing to the collection of paediatric medicines, baby-care products, and sanitary devices intended for children in healthcare poverty.
The initiative has seen the participation of numerous Air Force Departments. Among these: School for Marshals, Air Force Academy, 22nd DAMI Group, Specialists“ School, Aerospace Operations Command, Institute of Air Force Military Sciences, Aviation English Training Centre, Technical Supply Centre, 46th Air Brigade, 4th Brigade of Telecommunications and Systems for Air Defence and Flight Assistance, the Stormos 2nd, 4th, 6th, 32nd, 36th, 37th, 51st, 61st, 70th, 313th Aerobatic Training Group ”Frecce Tricolori", Aviano Airport Command, Vigna di Valle Airport Command, 2nd Vehicle Maintenance Group, 113th and 137th Remote Radar Squadrons, Syracuse Airport Detachment as well as the Air Force Command Squad – 1ª Air Region, Air Force Schools Command/3ª Air Region of Bari and the Italian Air Force Command for the Autonomous Region of Sardinia along with some Departments of the Sardinian territory (Experimental and Test Standardisation Department (RSSTA), Capo Frasca Air Firing Range, Alghero Airport Detachment and 80th SAR Centre).
Armed Forces personnel raised awareness among citizens about children's rights, explaining the aims of the initiative and promoting the donation of essential products for the care of young children. The joint commitment of Departments, volunteers, and pharmacies has helped to strengthen the network of solidarity that has characterised the Italian Air Force's contribution to the Rava Foundation's campaign for years.
«A commitment that testifies to the Air Force's closeness to the community and to the youngest,» emphasised the representatives of the departments, highlighting how participation in the initiative confirms the social role and deep ethical sense of the Armed Force's personnel.
