Launch of the 30th operational conversion course at the 4th Wing in Grosseto It began in the last few days, at the 20th O.C.U. Group (Operational Conversion Unit del 4th Wing of Grosseto, the first phase of training from the 30th Operational Conversion Course (C.C.O.) with the participation of six Pilot Officers destined for the Eurofighter line.The 4th Stormo reports to the Air Squad Command through Combat Forces Command. In addition to ensuring the operational conversion of the Armed Forces' pilots to be deployed in EF2000 line, is responsible for guaranteeing the air defence of the area of national interest, contributing to the control, since peacetime, of the relevant airspace and carrying out operations of Air defence in the assigned areas, as part of participation in international crisis prevention and management operations. Specifically, the Wing is engaged in the Quick Reaction Alert service, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, through the deployment of the Eurofighter aircraft.
