The first First Aid certificates have been presented to Italian Air Force personnel serving at Cameri Airport. Following the agreement signed on 12 March 2009 between the Regional Committee of the Italian Red Cross in Piedmont and the Command of Cameri Airport, the first 150 First Aid attendants have been trained. The personnel, both military and civilian, employed at the Cameri Military Airport, completed a 19-hour training course under the direction of Mr Gilberto Sacchetti and Mr Mattia Gambero.
On Monday 30th November, the first participation diplomas were awarded in the presence of the Airport Commander, Colonel Gian Mario Morresi, and the Director of the 1st Aircraft Maintenance Department, Colonel Fabio Sciorella, by the Health Director, Dr. Federico Beldì, and the President, Mr. Renzo Bignoli, both members of the Galliate Local Committee.
The training activity carried out at the Department aims to increase the level of collaboration between the Armed Force and the Red Cross itself. The technical-sanitary training activity, in addition to consolidating mutual knowledge, has specifically provided the opportunity to train part of the personnel in First Aid activities.
During the ceremony for the awarding of the first certificates, Colonel Morresi wished to emphasise that: “this course is not only useful in the specific area of work carried out at the airport facility, but is equally valid for any other sudden emergency. A useful tool not only for the Base personnel but also an added value for the service of the entire territory”.
