The Commanders of the Air Force High Commands met all together for the first time to present the mission, tasks, and outlooks of their Departments. The Commander of the Air Squad, Air Marshal Maurizio Lodovisi, the Commander Logistics of Air Force General Gabriele Salvestroni and the Commander of Schools Air Force General Franco Girardi was received on arrival at Pozzuoli by Air Force General Fernando Giancotti.
After the welcome address, the Senior Officers proceeded to the Auditorium to commence this particular day of study, which was attended by all attendees and numerous Officers and NCOs from the permanent staff.
During the conference, the missions and organisational structures of the Air Force's “backbone structure” were illustrated. The presentations generated keen interest from attendees, who actively participated in the discussion panel, an integral part of the event.
The meeting, which was beneficial and practical for the attending staff to understand the future employment scenario, allowed them to explore the evolutionary paths of the Armed Force, especially in relation to its capacity assets, the political, economic and financial situation, and the importance of the human factor and continuous training to operate, as a team, in complex and international contexts.
