Following the welcome address by the School Commander, Colonel Prisco Antonio Monaco, the male cadets in their historical uniforms and the female cadets in splendid white evening gowns engaged in nineteenth-century dances and choreography that brought to mind traditional debutante balls.
Held for the first time in the splendid setting of the Salone dei Cinquecento, the event was entirely organised by the students, with the support of the School’s staff. The “Makπ100” was therefore a further opportunity for the students to demonstrate to their very emotional families the maturity they had acquired during the three years spent within the School.
The title “Mak π 100” comes from a playful and sarcastic Piedmontese expression “mac pi sent”, which means ”only a hundred days”. It expresses the anxious wait for the end of the period of education before the state exams and the subsequent farewell to the school.
A tradition that repeats itself over time, bearing witness to the cohesion that unites the members of each course and their bond with the “Giulio Douhet” Military Aeronautical School, which welcomes them at just fifteen years of age and prepares them for a future at the best Italian and foreign universities or in military academies.
