The athletics race organized in the name of solidarity was attended by personnel from the Air Force of Florence and all the students of the “Douhet” School. More than 200 registered participants from the Air Force, including their families, did not hesitate to join with the usual generosity to the event, which, annually, aims to promote and contribute to the realization of non-profit projects intended to support public health facilities in the city, specialized in the fight against breast cancer. Brigadier General Claudio Salerno, Commander of the ISMA, emphasized that this year, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the event, a classic and unmissable appointment, has taken on a special social significance, confirming once again the close and increasingly strong bond between the Air Force and the city of Florence. The “Douhet” Junior Airmen were also the ones to cut the milestone of solidarity this year, for the fifth time in a row; as highlighted by Colonel Baldacci, Commander of the School, they demonstrated, with their enthusiasm, that they possess that spirit of solidarity and care for one’s neighbor that has always united and distinguished the men and women of the Italian Air Force.
