On Friday, March 26, at the military airport in Pratica di Mare (Rome), the ceremony marking the AM anniversary will be held with the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano. At the event, which will begin at 11:30 at the 14th Flight Deck, the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano will take part in an official capacity, together with Minister of Defense Ignazio La Russa and the military leaders of the Defense and Air Force. After the ceremony, after the military honors, the President of the Republic will be greeted by the passing of the Tricolour Flags that will draw their long tricolor in the sky. Subsequently, the Head of State will visit an exhibition set up inside the hangar, which will be divided into four thematic areas: the defense of airspace, international missions, various rescue operations, logistical support activities at national and international level. This exhibition aims to highlight the degree of technology and knowledge that, since its inception, characterize an Armed Force that is “constantly modern”. A series of valuable assets that are currently used in the various national and international contexts in which the Air Force is called upon to operate will be displayed on the occasion. These include the Eurofighter, Tornado and AMX fighter jets, the HH-3F and AB-212 helicopters, the Mobile Weather Unit, which can be used to support troops in international operations, the strix (small remote-controlled aircraft used by Special Forces); the ATI special stretcher (aircraft transit isolator) for the air transport of bio-contaminated persons, as well as the anti-explosive mini-robot and the vehicles used by the Special Forces of the A.M. A representative from the educational institutions in Rome and Pomezia will also take part in the event.
