The “Giulio Douhet” Italian Air Force Association has announced the 8th edition of the “AAA 2013 Award”. The award is reserved for authors of books promoting aeronautical and space culture and is divided into a historical section, a narrative section, a technical-scientific section, as well as a section for works, including out-of-print ones, published by companies and institutions in the sector, even for promotional and/or educational purposes only. Authors of books in Italian published after 1 April 2010, or even published previously but not evaluated in previous editions of the literary prize, will be eligible to enter the award. The prize is chaired by the National President of the AAA, General Giovanni Sciandra, who will be assisted by a panel consisting of seven civilian and military members and three substitute members. The panel will proceed with the evaluation of the works, having regard, in particular, to the interest and originality of the theme, the quality of research or creative ability, the literary presentation, the editorial graphic design, as well as the contribution to the dissemination of aeronautical thought and culture. The jury will proceed with the evaluation of the works according to the procedures and timetable to be specified by the President of the AAA and will identify an overall winner and a winner for each Section, with the exception of the one relating to works published by companies and institutions in the sector. The prizes will be in cash. Participants must submit 5 copies of their work to the AAA (Via Marcantonio Colonna, 23/25 – 00192 Rome) by 31 March 2013.
