Italian Air Force: three-year-old girl urgently transported to Rome by aircraft from the 31st Wing

A Falcon 50 aircraft transferred the young patient from Brindisi to the Bambino Gesù hospital.

It has concluded at dawn today, shortly after 6am, urgent healthcare transport of a three-year-old girl from the Airport of Cheers to Rome, carried out with a Falcon 50 aircraft of the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force, stationed at Ciampino (Rome).

 Emergency medical transport is one of the institutional activities that the Air Force carries out in service of the community. The flight, defined in this case as “IPV – Imminent Danger to Life”, was activated at the request of the Prefecture of Toasting to the Summit Situation Room of the Air Force Command of the Air Force. This immediately involved the 31st Wing of Ciampino, one of the Units that carries out operational readiness service for this type of mission. Once they arrived at the airport at the destination, where an ambulance was already waiting for the little one, the Falcon 50 is back available for immediate deployment if needed.

 The Italian Air Force's flying squadrons are available to the public 24 hours a day, every day of the year, with aircraft and crews capable of transporting patients, organs, medical teams, and ambulances, even in complex weather conditions. Hundreds of flight hours are carried out each year for these types of missions by aircraft from the 31st Wing in Ciampino, the 14th Wing in Pratica di Mare, the 46th Air Brigade in Pisa, and by helicopters from the 15th Wing in Cervia, stationed in various bases from the north to the south of the country.
