Last November the 4th Wing of Grosseto, thanks to numerous operational commitments in recent years, has reached the prestigious milestone of 90,000 flight hours by plane Eurofighter.
This was also made possible by the numerous participations within the scope of International missions, including the Air Policing operations in Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Estonia, to guarantee the security of NATO skies, alongside the contribution in Kuwait within the framework of Operation Inherent Resolve for the fight against Daesh.
In parallel, the Training activities they have guaranteed the operational conversion of an ever-increasing number of pilots onto Eurofighter aircraft, with training in line with operational standards suitable for tackling future scenarios. Broad-spectrum training, which involved the 20th Squadron and recently also the IX Squadron, integrating the training of Weapon Instructors and support for the activities of Operational Test and Evaluation.
In conjunction with national training activities, the 4th Wing took part in numerous International exercises, theatre for collaboration and interoperability with allied air forces; Red Flag, Pitch Black, Rising Sun, Ramstein Flag and Falcon Strike among the most relevant. These activities have strengthened synergy between operators from the main Western air forces, refining tactics and procedures in increasingly complex and dynamic scenarios, demonstrating the ability to integrate with fifth-generation assets in joint missions that represent the future of the Armed Force's aerotactical component.
