Handover of command of one of the Flying Groups that ensures the National Airspace Surveillance Service on a daily basis. In his farewell speech, the outgoing Commander thanked the personnel for the support received, the unity of purpose, and the valuable daily work carried out in ensuring the Group's mission.
The incoming Commander thanked [them] for the trust placed in [him/her] with the assignment of the delicate and prestigious role just assumed.
Colonel Pederzolli complimented“the excellence that the IX Group continues to express”and recognised the outgoing Commander of“having been able to combine authority and authoritativeness, highlighting how listening skills are a fundamental component of the art of command“He then expressed full confidence in the incoming Commander's abilities, urging him to tackle the many challenges ahead with passion and rigour.
During the event, a minute's silence was observed in respectful remembrance of the Fallen of the Armed Forces, and in particular in memory of the colleagues of the 6th Wing who recently passed away in the tragic air accident that occurred on August 19th.
