The emergency medical transport of a 6-year-old child from Lamezia Terme to Capodichino (NA) has just concluded, carried out with a Falcon 900 transport aircraft of the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force.

The child, in imminent danger of life, required urgent transfer from the “Pugliese Ciaccio” Hospital of Catanzaro. The young patient, transported by a Falcon 900 from the 31st Wing of Ciampino, was monitored throughout the flight by a medical team for the entire duration of the journey.

The life-saving flight was activated, at the request of the Prefecture of Catanzaro, by the Summit Situation Room of the Air Force Command which immediately involved the 31st Wing of Ciampino, one of the Units that carries out operational readiness service for this type of mission.

All necessary procedures were carried out by the military crew, and the aircraft took off from Lamezia Airport at midday. After landing at Capodichino Airport, the ambulance proceeded to the “Santobono” Hospital in Naples for subsequent admission.

The Italian Air Force's flight units are available to the public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with aircraft and crews capable of operating even in complex weather conditions, to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of death, but also of organs, medical teams or ambulances.
