Tennis, Internazionali BNL d’Italia: the Frecce Tricolori tomorrow over the Foro Italico
Tomorrow afternoon, the Italian Air Force's National Acrobatic Patrol will unfurl the world's longest Tricolore over the fields of the Rome tournament.
On Friday 17 May, at approximately 3:30 PM, the MB339PAN aircraft of the Frecce Tricolori of the Italian Air Force will fly over the historic red clay courts of the Foro Italico in Rome, unfurling the world's longest Tricolore for the occasion at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia.
The fly-past of the Frecce Tricolori over the Roman village hosting one of the most important red-clay tennis tournaments seals the collaboration between the Air Force and the tournament organisation. Thanks to an agreement between the Armed Force and Sport e Salute, meteorological personnel are providing, for the first time in the tournament's history, real-time weather forecasts for the entire duration of the international tennis competition.
A more than international season which will see the National Aerobatic Team engaged in a long summer tour in North America with numerous stops in both Canada and the United States of America – the Northamerica Tour (NAT) – which will see the Frecce Tricolori busy from the end of June to the whole of August. After hơn 30 years since the last mission in North America, the “Columbus ‘92” on the occasion of the five hundredth anniversary of the discovery of America, the aircraft and personnel of the Air Force will return overseas to carry the Tricolore (for more details on the Tour: https://bit.ly/44b76aH).
Passion, preparation, dedication, and a great deal of training are the fundamental values that distinguish and characterise the Italian Air Force, much like the world of sport.
The Frecce Tricolori will carry out some practice flypasts over the Foro Italico grounds on the morning of Friday 17 May with a reduced formation of aircraft.
