The young patient, in imminent danger of life, required urgent transfer. from the Sassari University Hospital to the Gaslini Paediatric Hospital in Genoa. The newborn travelled in a special thermal cot, accompanied by a medical team who monitored her throughout all phases of the flight.
The flight, defined as “IPV – Imminent Danger to Life”, it was activated at the request of Sassari Prefecture hello Summit Situation Room of the Air Squad Command – 1st Air Region of the Italian Air Force. This immediately concerned the 31st Wing of Ciampino, one of the Units that carries out operational readiness service for this type of mission. Once they arrived at Genoa airport, where an ambulance was already waiting for the little one, the Falcon 900 returned to Ciampino, the permanent base of the 31st Wing, becoming available again for immediate deployment if necessary.
