Around 900 participants in the running race organised in the name of sport and solidarity. Many people arrived well in advance at the gates of the Caluri base to take part in the 2nd edition of Run Flying, the non-competitive running race organised on the afternoon of Saturday 19 October at the 3rd Wing. Around 900 participants, despite the uncertain weather conditions right up until the start, responded with enthusiasm to the initiative by the Unione Marciatori Veronesi “Gruppo Podistico Miglioranza”. Enthusiasts of all ages, including grandparents, children, grandchildren and amateurs, formed a colourful stream in bright running gear, bringing to life the two routes of 6 and 12 km, which wound along the perimeter and internal connecting roads within the Operational Area of the Wing. Reporting to the Support Service of the Air Force Logistics Command, the 3rd Wing is the Armed Force unit that provides air projection logistic capabilities (Expeditionary & Deployable) for the Combat Support and Combat Service Support components of the Air Expeditionary Task Force (AETF), through the use of technologies and vehicles of a so-called “dual” nature, since these capabilities can be used for both military purposes and civil requirements, benefiting the national community in the event of major events and disasters.
