On Wednesday 13 April, the 3rd Aircraft Maintenance Department in Treviso achieved BS OHSAS 18001 certification. This prestigious recognition from the international Certification Body TUV Sud follows previously obtained certifications in accordance with the international standards ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment), making the Department the first and only Defence Entity to have obtained the so-called ‘Triad of Excellence’. The event was held in the presence of civilian and military authorities, major public agencies and private entities from the Marca region and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Padua. It was preceded by a round table discussion featuring Colonel Luigi Lombardi, Director of the 3rd RMV, representatives from the ALENIA company, UNINDUSTRIA Treviso, TUV Italia and, in conclusion, General Molteni. The attendees emphasised the importance of Integrated Management Systems, not only for the future scenario that this approach will open up within organisational science, but also, and above all, in terms of the benefits derived by citizens from Institutions that orient their mission to ensure increasingly high qualitative and sustainable performance in economic, social and environmental terms.
