Officers who have won a competition to become officers in the Air Academy and hold the rank of Lieutenant are included in the Academy. There are 14 officers belonging to the Air Corps and the Air Medical Corps. The training process consists of two phases:
•a military course, lasting approximately 4 months in the Academy, which aims to provide basic military training and is conducted in a collegial manner for all the Roles in the Academy;
•a technical-professional phase aimed at providing the specific knowledge and skills necessary to ensure effective use within the Departments of the F.A. This phase takes place at the Institute of Advanced Training and Education in Aeronautical and Space Medicine (I.P.A.M.A.S.) in Rome for CSArn Officers and at the Airspace Control Training Department for GArn Officers.
The mission of the Aeronautical Academy is to select, train, and inspire exemplary commanders and professionals, determined to serve our country “in team” with excellence and dedication.
