The personnel from the two Air Force Departments worked in synergy as part of a training mission. An HH-3F helicopter, which took off from Brindisi, supported the Air Fusiliers during a training mission. The purpose of the mission was joint training with the delicate procedures for using the “Fast Rope,” also known as a canapone, enabling personnel from the two Departments to deal in the best possible way, and above all safely, with any potential issues that might arise during a helicopter landing operation using the Fast Rope. The event was preceded by a briefing given by the crew of the 84th C/SAR Centre, during which the procedures to be applied during the exercise and all possible risks were illustrated. These types of exercises serve to ensure that the Armed Forces personnel are always ready to face any type of deployment, from rescue missions to the transport of personnel and equipment, both in national territory and in operational theatres, with professionalism and competence.
