The athlete from the Italian Air Force Sports Centre in Vigna di Valle will participate in the World Championships in Perth (AUS) in December. “I arrived at Riva del Garda with the desire and determination to get as close to the podium as possible and bring home a place in the team that will participate in the Australian World Championships in December to play my chances of qualifying for the Olympics,” declared an enthusiastic Francesca Clapcich, who then added, ”we are at the beginning of a long competitive season, but it was important to arrive in good condition.”. 1st Airman Clapcich is coached by former Olympian and now Federal Laser Radial class coach, Marshal Larissa Nevierov, who is also attached to the Air Force Sports Centre in Vigna di Valle. The selection for the Italian team was decided by the first 3 major events of this competitive season: the 42nd Princess Sofia Trophy in Palma de Mallorca and the 43rd French Sailing Olympic Week in Hyères.
