Founded in 1984, the Fanfara del Comando Scuole dell’Aeronautica Militare/3^a The Air Squadron based in Bari is made up of volunteer Airmen Musicians on fixed-term and permanent service, appropriately selected from the best graduates of Conservatoires of Music. 

The primary task is to participate, through the performance of hymns and marches, in the various ceremonies of the Armed Force's institutions. 

Thanks to the high artistic profile of its performances and the quality of its programmes, the Fanfara is one of the most representative ensembles on the Italian wind orchestra scene, boasting numerous recordings for radio and television broadcasters, collaborations with leading figures in the national artistic landscape, and performances in the most important theatres and squares, both in Italy and abroad.
