The Air Force has promoted the establishment of a Network of Museums, to which public and private entities have joined, driven by the similar aims of safeguarding, disseminating, and promoting historical and technical-aeronautical culture. The agreement, fundamental for enhancing the immense heritage of the Air Force as well as for organising conferences, studies, and exhibitions, currently consists of seven entities spread across the national territory that, in coordination with the Historical Museum of the Air Force, contribute to the growth of the overall offering of the aeronautical cultural heritage.
On the shores of Lake Bracciano, within the historic site of the ancient seaplane base of Vigna di Valle, stands the Italian Air Force Historical Museum. Its architectural structures, a blend of old and modern, are perfectly integrated into the natural park environment in which it is located.
