We inform all visitors that the Italian Air Force Historical Museum will be closed on september, 22nd (tuesday) 2026, due to an Institutional event

Please note that in order to carry out software updates, the flight simulators will not be available until further notice.

Please note: MUSAM's opening days and times may vary depending on the season.

 Museum Opening: 

• Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:30 (last entry 15:30);
• Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 18:00 (last admission 17:00);

Museum Closure:

• All weekdays Mondays.
• 1st January, Easter, 25th, 26th and 31st December.

Museum Entrance Fee:

· Full tariff: €10.00

reduced rate: €5.00
– For minors aged between 6 and 18 years old; first-degree relatives belonging to the State Police, the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza, the National Fire Corps, the Penitentiary Police, the Local Police (municipalities bordering the Lake), the Port Authority Corps – Coast Guard, the State Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy), the Military Red Cross Corps, active and retired. – The documents entitling to a reduction and to free entry must be shown at the ticket office; if the requirements are not met, payment of the difference will be required.

Free of charge:

• For children aged 0 to 5 years
• To all Military and Civilian Employees of the Ministry of Defence upon presentation of identification (CMD).
• To members of the State Police, the Carabinieri Corps, the Guardia di Finanza, the National Firefighter Corps, the Penitentiary Police, the Local Police (municipalities bordering the Lake), the Port Authority Corps – Coast Guard, the State Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy) in active service and retired, and to holders of a valid membership card for the Air Force Association. Qualifications entitling you to a discount or free entry must be presented at the ticket office. If requirements are not met, the supplementary fare will be payable.
• To the members of ICOM (International Council of Museums)
• to people with disabilities and their carer, upon presentation of appropriate certification
•  all tour guides of the European Union in carrying out their professional activity, by presenting a valid licence issued by the competent authority
• to journalists who are up to date with their membership fee payments, by presenting suitable documentation proving their professional activity

BOOKINGS FOR GUIDED TOURS

For organised groups of at least 20 people, associations and school groups, booking is mandatory. For individual visitors or families, booking is not necessary.

 The visiting group must adhere to the rules of conduct and good manners dictated by the Management with regard to both the staff present and the cultural heritage of the collection; otherwise the visit may be interrupted at any time. In the case of a guided tour, the group must follow the guide's instructions. In case of delay, the group leader is required to inform reception (06.99.88.75.19) to check guide availability. In case of unannounced delays of over 30 minutes, you could lose your right to drive.

 HOW TO BOOK A MUSEUM VISIT

Only in the case of organised groups will it be necessary to:

–  Contact The Museum Ticket Office Hello 06.99.88.75.19 The office is working. From Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturday, Sunday, and bank holidays, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. to send an email to visitamusam@csmusei.it with all the details of the visit, as set out below:

· Name and contact details (mobile) of the group leader.;

Number of participants;

Date and time of arrival at the Museum;

· Any other requests.

 FURTHER USEFUL INFORMATION:

• Groups wishing to use their own guide will be required to pay the Society €1.00 per person as a booking fee.
• Obligation to use earphones for groups:
  – Given the need, due to the high number of visitors, to maintain a quiet and respectful atmosphere within the Museum, effective from 1 September 2024, groups exceeding 10 people (excluding the guide) are required to provide their own earpieces and microphones in order to allow those providing information to keep their voices low.
  Anyone who doesn't have their own earphones can rent them at the museums, subject to prior booking. visitamusam@csmusei.it at a cost of €1.50 each.

• Exclusion from earphone use:
  – children attending nursery, primary and lower secondary schools;
  people with disabilities;
  – pupils belonging to nursery, primary, and lower secondary school groups, participating in activities and/or visits with the guidance of museum operators.

Here are some simple guidelines to help you make the most of your enjoyable day with us.

HOW TO PARK AT THE MUSEUM
Buses, cars, caravans, campers, trailers, bicycles and motorcycles must be parked in the designated areas. From the car park to the Museum entrance, visitors must proceed on foot, with the exception of persons with disabilities for whom parking is reserved adjacent to the Museum entrance or, if full, access by private vehicle, which will subsequently be returned to the car park by the accompanying person (if present).

What rules to follow

Visitors are FORBIDDEN to:

• Entering the museum with parcels, suitcases, bags, backpacks, umbrellas, walking sticks, helmets: please leave anything not strictly necessary for your visit in your vehicle; a cloakroom is also available in the entrance hall;

• Entering shirtless, in swimwear, or in clothing inappropriate for the location;

• introduce and consume food and drink along the exhibition route;

• smoking inside the Museum;

• climb over barriers around artefacts and aircraft;

• do not touch or tamper with displays or exhibited aircraft;

• make use of emergency exits without danger being present;

Access the beach opposite the Museum.

The visitor is ALLOWED:

• carry the lady's handbag;

• use the wardrobes, as intended;

• use the camera and camcorder for personal and amateur photos and videos only. Any photographs or recordings for commercial purposes must be authorised in advance by the Air Force General Staff;

• Small animals are permitted, provided they are carried or kept in a suitable carrier. Outside, there are many green areas where they can be walked on a lead.;

In AUTO: from Rome, follow Via Cassia to La Storta and join the Braccianese-Claudia road to be followed for 18 kilometres as far as the junction on the right for Vigna di Valle. Still on the Braccianese-Claudia road, you can exit at Osteria Nuova and continue to Anguillara-Sabazia, from where, following the lakeside road, you reach Vigna di Valle. Coming from the Via Aurelia or the A12 (Rome-Civitavecchia) motorway, follow the signs first for Cerveteri, then for Bracciano, and then take the Braccianese-Claudia road, direction Rome, to be followed until the junction for the Museum on the left. From the A1 motorway, take the Magliano Sabina exit in the direction of Civita Castellana, continue to Nepi, take the Via Cassia Veientana, in the direction of Rome, and exit at the Settevene-Trevignano-Bracciano junction. Continue for about 6.2 km until the junction for Anguillara Sabazia. In Anguillara, follow the lakeside road towards Bracciano until you reach the entrance to the Museum, which you will find on your right.

ON THE TRAIN: FM3 line with destination station Bracciano and departure stations Roma Ostiense (for those coming from Rome) and Viterbo Porta Fiorentina (for those coming from Viterbo) respectively.TimetableUpon arriving at Bracciano, you can reach the Museum by taxi or local bus (see below for times).

By plane: From Leonardo da Vinci Airport (Fiumicino) take the FM1 train to Roma Trastevere, then the FM3 train to Bracciano. From Ciampino Airport take the Cotral bus to Anagnina station, then take Metro A to Valle Aurelia and from there the FM3 train to Bracciano.

BUS Location:

• From Bracciano: “D/1” line departing from Piazzale PasqualettiTimetable).
