The event was organized by the Brindisi Airfield Detachment. The initiative, authorized by the Air Force General Staff, was intended by Colonel Giambattista Degiuli, Commander of the Detachment, to strengthen the esprit de corps among the military and civilian personnel of the Air Force Entities present in the city of Brindisi and in the Headquarter of the District, as well as to strengthen relations with the retired personnel and the United Nations Agencies hosted by the Italian State within the Department.
The motor rally began at 08:30, with a hundred participants arriving at the gardens of the Circle of Officers of the detachment. After the registrations, the group went through some streets of the city before undertaking a tour of the valley of Itria and concluding the day at the Extraordinary Detachment of Punta Penna Grossa, the headquarters of the Mare Survival Center in Carovigno (BR).

At the end of the event, Colonel Degiuli, in thanking the participants and those who worked to make the event a success, said: “I am very satisfied with the result achieved with this first motorcycling event, especially because the participants particularly appreciated the formula we proposed that combines the spirit of coexistence and the passion for motorcycles and the discovery of the beauty of our territory. A heartfelt thanks goes to the Air Force General Staff, which, with its authorization, made the realization of the event possible.”.
