Dornier Do J. WAL

High-wing monoplane, central fuselage with side fins, twin-engine on a pylon, metal construction, for reconnaissance and bombing.

It was used by the Air Force for various purposes:In 1926, for example, they were used for a crossing of the North Atlantic; in 1928, two Wal were sent to search for the airship “Italia”; in 1932, they were used in bomb dropping trials.

In 1941, when the Italian Wal were eliminated, the Regia Aeronautica came into possession of a further 8 Yugoslavian Wal which were subsequently ceded to the Luftwaffe.
