Two-seater biplane reconnaissance aircraft, single-engine.
The Fiat G.22 was a two-seater tandem aircraft with a 550 hp Fiat engine and a welded steel tube fuselage covered in fabric. The undercarriage had independent wheels and the armament consisted of two synchronised 7.7 mm forward-firing machine guns and one (sometimes two) rearward-firing machine gun on a rotating mounting.
In 1927 they went to equip several reconnaissance squadrons.
The last G.22s were declared out of service in 1938.
