Low-wing, two-seat, single-jet monoplane.
The G.80 was the first Italian jet aircraft.
Powered by a 1,587 kg/s De Havilland Goblin turbojet, it was of all-metal construction. The armament included two 12.7 mm guns in the nose and underwing attachments for 227 kg of practice loads.
The activity concluded in 1959 at the Pratica di Mare Flight Test Centre where a G.80 was used as a carrier for the national SISPRE C-7 air-to-air missile.
The MUSAM in Vigna di Valle (RM) exhibits one example.
