Biplane, single-seat, metal fighter, single-engine. The two-seat version was used for training.
From 1928, CR.20s were supplied to several squadrons of the Regia Aeronautica. In 1929, a “hydro” version was also implemented.
In 1941, the last CR.20s were decommissioned for demolition.
