A single-engine, low-wing cantilever monoplane training aircraft developed by the Italian aeronautical company FIAT in the post-war period.
Production for the Air Force was approximately 160 aircraft delivered starting in 1948.
It was mostly used for pilot training and, in demanding training use, the G.59 showed deformations to the wing structure under heavy stress.
The instructional role of the G.59 began to decrease from 1954.
Today, the MUSAM in Vigna di Valle (RM) preserves G.59 versions “A” and “B”.
