Fighter aircraft, single-engine, single-seat, low-wing cantilever monoplane with a metal structure.
Conceived in the early 1940s, the G.55 was improved in successive stages and used in combat operations during the Second World War.
It was appreciated above all for its high rate of climb, service ceiling and range.
The only surviving G.55 is the one on display at the MUSAM in Vigna di Valle (RM).
