Single-engine, single-seat, all-weather fighter-bomber.
In May 1953, the production plan for the F-86K to be supplied to the air forces of France, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, and Italy was agreed.
The first F-86K assembled by Fiat was flown at Caselle on 23 May 1955. The Italian inventory was around 90 aircraft.
The last flight was carried out in 1973.
As well as being a “gate guardian” at various airports, an F-86K is preserved at the MUSAM in Vigna di Valle.
