Single-engine fighter biplane developed by’Company French Société Anonyme of Nieuport Establishments in the tens del 20th century.

Tested in 1915, Delange's Ni.11 was the progenitor of a successful family of fighters which remained in production until 1918 through a succession of different subsequent models: “11, 16, 17, 17bis, 23, 24, 24bis, 25 and 27”. Of these, the “11”, “17” and “27” types served in Italy and the first two, initially imported, were reproduced in Italy by Nieuport-Macchi.

One of the relevant differences of the Ni.17 model, compared to the Ni.11 model, is the presence of the synchroniser. This allowed a belt-fed Vickers machine gun to be placed in the fuselage, which, by being able to fire through the propeller disc without hitting it, greatly increased the aircraft's combat value.

The Ni.17 entered service in October 1917.

They were definitively decommissioned in 1934.
