Sardegna, volo salva-vita: neonata di 42 giorni trasferita in culla termica da Alghero a Torino con Falcon 900 dell’Aeronautica Militare

The flight mission was carried out by an Italian Air Force crew on standby at Ciampino military airport. It was from here that the Falcon 900 took off around 1:15 PM bound for Alghero airport, where it landed around 2:00 PM and was thus able to embark, inside a thermal cot, the little patient, accompanied by her mother, a doctor, and a nurse.

 

Having departed from Alghero around 14:45, the aircraft landed in Turin around 15:30, where an ambulance, awaiting the little girl, immediately transported her to the destination hospital. The Falcon 900 subsequently returned to Ciampino, resuming its duties. operational readiness in favour of the community.

 

Today's urgent transport was requested by the Prefecture of Sassari and was activated on the instructions of Top Situations Room of the Air Force's Air Squad Command which has, among its duties, that of managing these types of emergencies.

 

Through its Flying Departments, the Air Force makes aircraft and crews available Ready to take off at any moment It is able to operate even in complex weather conditions to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life, often children, as happened today, but also of organs and medical teams for transplants.

 

Hundreds of flight hours are carried out every year for this type of operation by the Air Force aircraft, particularly of the 31st Wing of Ciampino, of 14th Practice Wing of Pratica di Mare, of 46th Air Brigade of Pisa from the helicopters of the 15th Wing, Cervia, these latter ones recently engaged in constant support of the population of’Emilia-Romagna, severely affected by the severe flooding.

La piccola, precedentemente ricoverata presso il Policlinico Universitario Monserrato “Duilio Casula” (CA), necessitava di cure specialistiche urgenti. Per tale motivo la Prefettura di Cagliari ha richiesto l’intervento dell’Aeronautica Militare per trasportare urgentemente la bimba presso la clinica “Mangiagalli” di Milano, dove riceverà i trattamenti necessari.

La missione di volo è stata effettuata da un equipaggio dell’Aeronautica Militare, in servizio di pronto intervento presso l’aeroporto militare di Ciampino. Da questa base il Falcon 50 è decollato nel pomeriggio verso l’aeroporto di Elmas (CA), dove ha imbarcato la piccola paziente, protetta da una culla termica, accompagnata dai genitori e da un’equipe medica.

Il decollo dall’aeroporto sardo è avvenuto intorno alle 18, con successivo atterraggio a Linate alle 19:10, dove un’ambulanza ha immediatamente trasportato la bimba presso l’ospedale di destinazione. Il Falcon 50 ha poi fatto rientro a Ciampino, riprendendo il servizio di prontezza operativa per la collettività.

Dopo aver ricevuto la richiesta di intervento immediato da parte della Prefettura di Cagliari, è stata la Sala Situazioni di Vertice del Comando Squadra Aerea dell’Aeronautica Militare, che ha tra i propri compiti anche quello di gestire questo tipo di emergenze, ad attivare la missione di volo.

Attraverso i suoi Reparti di Volo, l’Aeronautica Militare mette a disposizione mezzi ed equipaggi pronti a decollare in qualunque momento e in grado di operare anche in condizioni meteorologiche complesse per assicurare il trasporto urgente non solo di persone in imminente pericolo di vita, spesso bambini, proprio come accaduto oggi, ma anche di organi ed equipe mediche per trapianti.

Sono centinaia ogni anno le ore di volo effettuate per questo genere di interventi dagli aerei dell’Aeronautica Militare, in particolare del 31° Stormo di Ciampino, del 14° Stormo di Pratica di Mare, della 46ª Brigata Aerea di Pisa e dagli elicotteri del 15° Stormo di Cervia, questi ultimi recentemente impegnati nel supporto costante alla popolazione dell’Emilia-Romagna, duramente colpita dalla forte alluvione.
