A collaboration to integrate Flight Safety best practices in the development of new risk management methodologies in healthcare
On May 19 and 20, at the International Training Center of the 46th Air Brigade in Pisa, the participants of the university advanced course in risk management At the Luiss Business School, as already happened last year, they took part – as observers – in a training session on flight simulators.
The visit took place within the framework of the framework agreement between the General Staff of the Defense and the Guido Carli International Free University of Social Sciences, aimed at fostering new synergies to develop and support high-level training, innovation, teaching methodologies, and advanced education.
The objective of the activity, in particular, was to evaluate potential applications in the healthcare sector for the methodologies developed over the years by the Air Force in the field of flight safety and risk management.
The attendees were able to witness entire flight simulations, experiencing the use of control and risk management tools such as planning, briefing and de-briefing, and personally verifying the importance and effectiveness of Crew Resource Management. The event was attended by the Commander of the 46th Air Brigade, Brigadier General Alessandro De Lorenzo, the Course Director, Prof. Stefano Mezzopera, and the Flight Safety Inspector, Brigadier General B.A. Roberto Di Marco.
