The conference was attended by Dr Raffaele Cantone, President of the National Anti-Corruption Authority, and Dr Franco Roberti, National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor, who, during their speeches, outlined the complexity of the issue from a national perspective on the prevention and suppression of corruption, offering profound and incisive insights. In his address, however, General Giancotti – who commands some 20,000 men and women working daily to ensure the country’s security – outlined the approach adopted by the Armed Forces to combat deviant behaviour, based on existing legislation and focused on interventions targeting culture and processes, using innovative methods linked above all to widespread accountability and distributed leadership. The conference saw the active participation of attendees from three training courses for managers and officials in the public administration, as well as representatives from the academic and institutional spheres.
