On arrival at Treviso Airport's apron, the’Flight Safety Inspector, Maj. Gen. R. Di Marco, accompanied by Colonel Giovanni Trebisonda, Head of Flight Safety Office of the Logistic Command, and Lieutenant Colonel Gian Luca Greco, Flight Test Engineer and Head of Technical/Maintenance Factors Section of the 2nd Office-Investigation of the Flight Safety Inspectorate, was welcomed by the Director, Colonel Edoardo Pilone, who, through a briefing, illustrated the structure, duties, and activities carried out by the Department and the organisational and procedural aspects relating to Flight Safety, which include the implementation of the Flight Safety Management Manual (FSMM). After sincerely thanking the Inspector for the visit, the Director emphasised the importance of verifying the ways in which a culture of Flight Safety is acquired and implemented in the Armed Force's Maintenance Departments.

The’Flight Safety Inspector In his speech, he placed the visit within the general context of actions aimed at gaining awareness of the different realities that contribute to the operational capability of the Air Force, with the conviction that all are and must be part of the Armed Force's Flight Safety culture. In this regard, the 3rd RMAA is an interesting case study as a maintenance entity and the subject of profound transformations that are still ongoing. General B.A. Di Marco He then illustrated the ongoing transformations aimed, on the one hand, at strengthening the support provided to Commanders by the various Flight Safety personnel and, on the other hand, at creating an increasingly widespread network that can ensure the support and closeness of the Flight Safety Inspectorate to all the various branches of the Armed Forces scattered across the national territory, even with the new Flight Safety posture of the High Commands, which foresees the deployment, at the head of the respective Flight Safety Offices, of Colonels who are aircrew with previous staff experience in Top and Wing/Entity Command areas.

A visit then followed to areas of particular interest: the hangar, the Supply Directorate, the Avionics Maintenance Centre, which allowed the Inspector to view and appreciate the maintenance and technical-logistical capabilities of the Department. Finally, after a stop at the exhibition area, the traditional signing of the visitor's book took place in the Director's office.
