On Tuesday 11 May, the six Mayors, accompanied by their Staff, made a visit to the High Command of Poggio Renatico I. The Mayors of the municipalities of Bondeno, Cento, Sant’Agostino, Mirabello, Vigarano Mainarda and Poggio Renatico, accompanied by more than thirty people among managers and councilors of their respective municipalities, were received by the Operational Commander of the Air Force, General of the Air Force Leandro De Vincenti, who explained to the guests the activities of the COFA, not forgetting to emphasize that he is also the Commander of the CAOC5, a member of the Air Policing in the airspaces of Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Albania (rotating with the Greek CAOC) and, of course, Italy. Subsequently, the guests visited the COFA Operations Room and Lot 3, a modern building equipped with structured cabling where, in November 2009, the first complex simulated exercise of the Air Force, known as ‘Virtual Flag 09’, was conducted.
The Mayors of Alto Ferrarese, an intercommunal association established in 2001, expressed particular appreciation for today’s visit, which allowed them to learn about the activities carried out at the Air Force base by many of their fellow citizens, who live with their families in their respective municipalities.
