A teenage girl, in imminent danger of death, travelled on board an aircraft of the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force

 

The evening yesterday concluded the Emergency medical transport of a 13-year-old girl about trafficking Reggio CalabriaRome, carried out with an aircraft G-650 of the Italian Air Force.

The patient, in imminent danger of death, needed to be transferred Of’Urgency from the Great Metropolitan Hospital of Reggio Calabria to the Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome and travelled inside the aircraft, constantly Monitored e Assisted from an’medical team, with his mother.

Activities of this nature, in favour of citizens, constitute one of the institutional tasks carried out by the Air Force. The life jacket it was activated, at the request of the Prefecture of Reggio Calabria, by the Top Situations Room of the Italian Air Force, subordinate to the Air Squad Command in Milan, which immediately interested the 31st Wing, one of the Departments that provides the service on Readiness operating for this kind of mission.

The flight, as is the case for this type of activity, was authorised by the Prime Minister's Office, which manages and coordinates the activities of the State aircraft fleet.

All necessary procedures for immediate take-off were carried out, and the aircraft took off from Rome Ciampino airport last night, landing in Reggio Calabria. Here, the patient was embarked on the G650 for urgent transport back to Rome Ciampino airport, where a’Ambulance he was waiting for it to facilitate the next Admission in the Roman hospital.

The Air Force Flying Squadrons are available to the public. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with means and crews capable of operating, even in complex weather conditions, to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life, but also of organs, medical teams or ambulances.

Hundreds of flight hours are carried out each year for this type of intervention by the aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino, from 14th Wing of Pratica di Mare, the 46th Air Brigade in Pisa and from the helicopters of the 15th Wing in Cervia.
