On Monday 7 March, a 15-day-old newborn baby was urgently transported by a Falcon 900 from the 31st Wing. The transport request, made necessary to guarantee the little patient immediate specialist medical care, was sent by the hospital to the Prefecture of Cagliari and was received by the Operations Room of the Aeronautical Staff, which ordered the flight. The Falcon 900 aircraft from the 31st Wing of Ciampino (Rome) landed at the ‘Mario Mameli‘ airport in Elmas-Cagliari at 10:56 AM local time and departed at 11:19 AM for the ’San Giusto‘ airport in Pisa, where it arrived after approximately 45 minutes of flight. The newborn, placed inside a special thermal cot and accompanied by his mother and father, was assisted during the flight by the medical staff of the Maciotta Clinic. The use of ’Ambulift' equipment, provided by the Elmas Airport Management Company, was also necessary for boarding the patient into the cabin. Upon arrival at Pisa airport, the little patient was subsequently transported by ambulance to Massa hospital.
