Sabato 25 Sett. confermato il titolo mondiale conquistato nel 2009 in Giappone. Domenica 26 Sett. anche 2 medaglie di argento nelle finali di specialità Le quattro atlete appartenenti al Centro Sportivo dell’Aeronautica Militare di Vigna di Valle (Roma), 1° Aviere Elisa Santoni, 1° Aviere Elisa Blanchi, 1° Aviere Daniela Masseroni e 1° Aviere Angelica Savrayuk, oltre a Giulia Galtarossa dell’Ardor Padova e Romina Laurito della Virtus Gallarate, hanno conquistato la medaglia d’oro nel programma d’insieme al termine di una prestazione che ha esaltato anche il ‘pubblico di casa’ presente sugli spalti dell’Olimpyisky. Come ha voluto sottolineare il 1° Aviere Santoni, capitano della squadra azzurra, nonostante le difficoltà iniziali di giocare in casa delle avversarie più temibili, è stato un grande risultato che dopo l’oro del Giappone fa ben sperare per le Olimpiadi di Londra del 2012. Nella giornata di domenica 26 Settembre, le farfalle azzurre hanno anche conquistato nelle finali di specialità (cinque cerchi e tre nastri/due funi) due medaglie d’argento, posizionandosi stavolta dietro le russe.
