The 3rd Operational Support Wing hosted the event organized by the European Air Group. The organization, based at the Royal Air Force Base of High Wycombe (Great Britain), pursues the goal of increasing interoperability between the Air Forces, also in the logistical sector, in particular through the Air Movement Project (AMP).
The works were attended by delegates from the Air Forces of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy, representatives of the Support Service of the Logistics Command for the Movement and Transport sector, as well as delegates from the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa, the Pratica di Mare Airport Command and the 3rd S.O. Squadron, for the three national Air Terminal Operation Centers (ATOC).
During the various sessions, the training program for the personnel of the Air Terminal military was discussed and implemented, with particular emphasis on the handling and management of passengers and cargo, in anticipation of the upcoming “Advanced Interoperable Load Management Course” (AILMC), intended for future EAG instructors, which will take place in Pisa.
There was also talk of the “Force Integration Training for Combined Air Terminal Operation” (FIT), normally held at the 3rd Air Wing, which this year, exceptionally, will take place during the “Volcanex” exercise planned for next autumn in France.
Both instructional activities, moreover, provide both a theoretical phase and an appropriate practical phase, and, through the implementation of the “lessons identified and lessons learned” derived from the activities carried out by the involved Departments, they allow the updating of the relevant programs.
