The initiative at the M.lli AM School in Viterbo and the 4th Wing in Grosseto concluded on Friday 26th November. 21 young people, from all over Italy, participated in the session, having experienced this new and interesting initiative with determination and strong motivation for three weeks. Similar to the September session, the first week took place entirely at the Marescialli School and was dedicated to enrolment operations, formal instruction, physical and sporting activities, as well as learning the basic concepts concerning the constitutional duty of defending the homeland, the fundamental activities of the Armed Forces, and in particular those carried out by the Air Force. Subsequently, the attendees were sent to the 4th Wing in Grosseto until Thursday 25th November, where they were able to experience daily operational reality firsthand, on par with their peers who choose to undertake a year of military service as Fixed-Term Volunteers, and to whom they were fully assimilated: flag-raising, formal training activities, roll call, and lights out. They also had the opportunity to see the Eurofighter jet and become familiar with flying thanks to the use of simulators. Furthermore, thanks to collaboration with the Italian Red Cross, the young people were able to attend interesting lessons, at the end of which the ‘course participants’ were awarded a certificate of attendance. The attendees finally returned to Viterbo on Friday 26th November, where they received their certificates of attendance from the Commander of the Marescialli School, Colonel Antonio Gaetano Coppola.
