On Monday 6 June, at the AM Selection Center, the tests scheduled in the Call for Applications for admission to the Institute in Florence began. For 2011, the Institute registered the highest number of applications (703), of which 549 were for the scientific field, received in the first five years of activity, showing an increase of 48.9% compared to that of 2010. The 454 competitors flocked to the Guidonia hangar where the reception room and the testing area had been prepared. To pass the test, which consisted of 60 multiple-choice logic-deductive questions over a 43-minute time limit, only 83 candidates were successful; as for the Classical High School, due to the small number of participants, in accordance with the provisions of the Call for Applications, the candidates were sent directly for medical examinations. All candidates who have passed the prescribed health examinations will be called back to Guidonia from June 27 to July 1 to undergo the further competitive tests that include attitudinal examinations, physical education tests and, finally, a general knowledge test consisting of 70 multiple-choice questions, differentiated by the respective fields of study. At the end of these tests, within the first decade of July, the ranking list of the successful candidates for admission will be drawn up.
