Colonel Giuseppe Prestigiacomo is the new Commandant of the Courses at the Caserta Specialist School. The brief and sober ceremony, preceded by the Flag of the Department being flown, and attended by the Commandant of the School, Colonel Pilot Paolo Marco Felli, saw the participation of all the military and civilian personnel of the permanent staff and of those attending the courses in education at the Institute. General Antonio De Gennaro leaves the Command of the Courses and active service to be placed on leave from November 9th. Under his direction, the educational and training organization of the School has undergone various and important transformations, from the transfer of the teaching facilities to the new Multi-Purpose Center (a modern “campus” dedicated to training cadets), to the revision of the curriculum and the training process for the Sergents courses, from the updating of the instructional programs for the retraining courses for non-directive personnel of the AM, to the assignment of courses for Volunteer Troops on permanent duty, various specialty/qualification courses, and courses related to the “Live the Armed Forces” project.
During his farewell address, General De Gennaro, visibly moved, retraced the milestones that characterized his life in the Armed Forces and at the Caserta School, emphasizing several times the importance of the training activities for human resources, especially for specialists, for the Italian Air Force. In the margins of the speech, he had the opportunity to thank all the employees and non-employees for their availability and commitment in every circumstance, the Commander of the School, for the trust always shown in him, and the participants in the courses. Colonel Giuseppe Prestigiacomo, in addition to his duties as Course Commander, also assumes the related duties of Deputy Commander and Head of the Library of the Specialist School. Coming from the Air Force Command where he held the position of Chief of the Command and Control Systems and Sensors Department of the Generation of Forces and Operational Planning Branch, Colonel Prestigiacomo expressed his enthusiasm for the new assignment, the first in the training sector, which he will “face with the natural tension that comes from the awareness of the responsibilities that await me, but also with the serenity that comes from being able to count on the enlightened and sensitive guidance of the Commander and a staff of proven ability, great experience and undisputed competence in the specific sectors. Colonel Felli, in his speech, praised the work carried out in favor of SSAM by General De Gennaro who, during his years of service with the same organization, has worked “with dedication and loyalty to the institutions, but also with humanity and firmness in dealing with the staff employed”, contributing to achieving for the Institute levels of excellence in the delicate field of training specialists for the Italian Air Force. The Commander also wished Colonel Prestigiacomo good luck in the important assignment he will undertake.
