On Thursday 3 June, the Head of SME visited the Inter-Forces Training Area at ‘Salto di Quirra’ in Perdasdefogu
From the position at altitude 232, he witnessed the launches of Hawk missiles against the Mirach 100/5 radio-guided missiles, supplied to the Inter-Forces Field of Salto di Quirra (PISQ), carried out by units of the artillery of the Italian Army. Subsequently, the Head of SME moved to the ground field, where he witnessed the helicopter launches carried out by the Aviation Personnel of the Army.
The Authority was received by Brigadier General Fabrizio Draghi, Commander of the Experimental Flight Center of Pratica di Mare (Rome), and Brigadier General Roberto Quattrocchi, Commander of the PISQ.
The visit was also attended by General of the Army Vincenzo Lops, Commander of the Support Forces of the Land Forces, General of the Army Enzo Stefanini, Commander of the Army Air Force, and General of the Division Maurizio Valzano, Commander of the Artillery Counter-Artillery Command.
During the visit, General Valotto was informed about the logistical and operational capabilities of the PISQ, its potential and operational flexibility, as well as the economic benefits for the territory resulting from the presence of the Polígono.
